This program will prepare the student with the skills needed to enter into the exciting world of IT Support.



IT Help Desk Duties and Responsibilities may include:


  • Install, Configure, Test, Analyze, Diagnose, and Support PC Hardware.
  • Install, Configure, Test, Analyze, Diagnose, and Support PC Software.
  • Solve an array of end-user issues from simple user errors to sophisticated hardware issues.


An IT Help Desk Specialist should be:


  • Friendly and cooperative
  • Self-motivated and dependable
  • Outgoing with great communication skills
  • Be organized and have great attention to detail


When you complete your IT Help Desk Specialist program you should demonstrate the ability to:


  • Step into a Level 1 Help Desk or Call Center environment.
  • Understand and function in all areas of IT support operations.
  • Provide desktop and basic network support to customers in a corporate setting.
  • Be prepared to sit for Industry exams including:
    • Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) 2003
    • MCTS 70-680
    • MCP Windows XP Pro
    • CompTIA A+ 2009 Exams - 220-701, 220-702
    • SK0-002 CompTIA Server+
    • XK0-002 CompTIA Linux+ 2009
    • N10-004 CompTIA Network+ 2009
    • SY0-201 CompTIA Security+ (2009 Revision)


Help Desk Skills are your entry into the world of IT support and will open the door to many other careers and training. Growth within the IT Field is easily attainable as skills are sharpened through hands-on experience and continued education.
